Bio

Holly Atkinson was born in a small town in Ontario in 1957. She received her degree and diploma in art education from the University of Toronto and Sheridan College.
In 1979, Holly was employed as a graphic artist for the City of Calgary .Her duties included set design, graphics, drafting, photography and calligraphy. In 1982, moving to Paris France, she furthered her art education under the famed painter MacAvoy at Atelier Lucernaire. In 1984, Holly returned to Toronto and worked as a mural artist. In 1985, Atkinson worked as a wax technician, mold maker and patineur at a bronze casting foundry .It was here that her passion and creativity for sculpture were realized. Atkinson sculpts in metal, mixed media and winterstone.
It is these experiences over the years that have created the artist Holly Atkinson; a visionary, a creative force and dynamic personality.
She has received awards and commissions ,notably The Laurie Pallet Award for the City of Mississauga and the Baptismal Font for St.Joseph`s Church in Mississauga.
Holly has exhibited in Finland, the United States and in Canada at the Canadian Sculpture Centre and The McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
