Artist Statement

My work evolves around people I have seen or imagined. Through my travels and experiences, I take snapshots or sketches of people, their faces, their costumes, their cultures. I sculpt in various mediums but prefer metal, mixed media and winterstone. My sculptures are abstract or representational and include other elements such as wood, stone and bone. Form, line, shape and colour are all important elements that depict my style and uniqueness. It is the process of adding and subtracting, layering and molding that interest me. I also include light, shadow and texture in my work. My sculptures are expressive and contemporary. They evoke feeling, curiosity and beauty.
